Strange that you would be a part of Star Fleet and yet be made aware of the Temporal Prime Directive. Perhaps rules are different in your time.

Sarek rescued me after my parents were attacked and presumed killed by Klingons who had invaded the facility where we lived.
We were bound to one another after he performed a mind-meld, so the powers that be allowed him and Amanda to take me in.
